Johan Börje
Johan Börje has more than 30 years’ experience in international relations, technology, sustainability, circular economy and energy. At Stockholm Exergi he played a key role in the company’s successful application to the first round of grants from the EU Innovation Fund, responsible for the sections on market potential, sales approach and funding of the project. Today, he leads the work to secure the additional funding for the company’s BECCS project, with particular focus on the Voluntary Carbon Market and its demand for carbon removal with permanent storage. In addition to engaging with corporation looking to acquire technical negative emissions to become net-zero, Johan is directly involved in policy work related to climate accounting and the mechanisms for certification of carbon removals. He is also the company’s representative at the Negative Emissions Platform. His presentation will high-light the key challenges facing the much-desired volume deployment of negative emissions with permanent storage.
